Each of our headbands and accessories are inspired by pieces decorated with flowers and buds molded of wax that were made and worn by brides from the nineteenth to the mid-twentieth centuries.
This is Bert and Lizzie. They got married in South London in 1923. Lizzie’s bouquet looks very 2017 (!) and her veil is complimented by a delicate headpiece decorated with flowers and buds made of wax.
When Elizabeth Taylor played Kay Banks in the 1950 film Father of the Bride, she also wore a headpiece with wax flowers.
And just two years I made my daughter a headpiece decorated with wax flowers to compliment her gorgeous 1960s dress (from Heavenly Vintage Brides).
